As a member of Formosa Plastics Group, Formosa Plastics Marine Corporation was founded in 1980 mainly to provide liquid chemical transportation services for US Gulf/Far East region.

The first ship “MV Formosa One” was delivered in April 1981. After two decades of endeavor, the company has established excellent reputation in the shipping business, As of today(2006), the company operate a fleet of 6 of chemical tankers, 3 of chem/product tankers, 4 product oil tankers, 8 bulk carriers, 4 crude oil tankers, 5 gas carriers as well as 3 container carriers.

After all the delivery, Formosa Plastics Marine Corp will operate more then 40 vessels and mainly focus on chemical and product arena.
